{"id":2800,"date":"2021-11-05T07:12:00","date_gmt":"2021-11-05T12:12:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stotlerhayes.com\/?p=2800"},"modified":"2024-05-07T09:01:00","modified_gmt":"2024-05-07T14:01:00","slug":"cms-nursing-home-staff-vaccination-mandate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stotlerhayes.com\/cms-nursing-home-staff-vaccination-mandate\/","title":{"rendered":"CMS Nursing Home Staff Vaccination Mandate"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>CMS issued an Interim Final Rule \u201cMedicare and Medicaid Programs: Omnibus COVID-19 Health Care Staff Vaccination\u201d on November 5, 2021.&nbsp; Generally, this Rule requires that providers ensure their staff members have received the first dose of the COVID vaccine by December 6, 2021, and the second dose by January 4, 2022, as a condition of continued participation in the Medicare and Medicaid programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CMS is accepting comments on the Rule until December 29, 2021, at 11:50 PM ET. If you\u2019d like to submit a comment to CMS to explain how this Rule will impact your facility, here\u2019s how.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The easiest way to submit your comment, in our opinion, is electronically.&nbsp; Electronic comments can be submitted at&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.regulations.gov\/\"><em>http:\/\/www.regulations.gov<\/em><\/a><em>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once on the site, use the \u201cSearch\u201d box to find the Rule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can either type in the docket number (CMS-2021-0168) or the title (Medicare and Medicaid Programs: Omnibus COVID-19 Health Care Staff Vaccination) to pull up the Rule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From the Search Results list, confirm you\u2019ve located the correct Rule and then hit the \u201cComment\u201d box.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The comment form will open. You can type up to 5,000 words in the comment form, and you also have the option to attach up to 20 files of no more than 10MB each.&nbsp; If you\u2019d like to receive a tracking number and proof of submission, check the appropriate box.
